Dear Stoner: What are some incognito ways to get high on the ski lift?
Sendy Crawford
Dear Sendy: Sneaking tokes on the mountain isn't very hard, but if you don't want paranoia to dampen your shred sesh, try an edible. The body high makes the mountain's fresh air, views and powder surreal as you glide down the slopes, and you'll never have to worry about being busted. Still, you'd have to be pretty dumb or unlucky to get caught sneaking off the trail for a quick one-hitter or pinner joint behind the trees (or in one of the infamous smoke shacks in Breckenridge and Keystone).
Some of my friends with big cojones and small brains like to smoke joints and blunts once they're in the middle of the lift ride. There's not much anyone can do about it while they’re suspended in midair, and the evidence is gone by the time they get off. But smoke tends to travel backward, and it's unfair to subject other skiers and boarders to that. So use a vaporizer — or a one-hitter if you have to — if you really want to toke up on the lift.
