The Larimer Block Party debuts this Saturday, September 26, at the 2700 block of Larimer Street (both outside and in several venues). Running from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., the event will feature musical acts on five stages at Cold Crush, Larimer Lounge, Meadowlark Bar, Meadowlark Kitchen and an outdoor Main Stage (which is open to those over eighteen years old). Anyone driving to the event should know that the block-long stretch of Larimer Street between 27th and 28th Avenues will be blocked off. Those looking to buy tickets the day of the event should note that the box office is on the 28th Avenue end.

Del The Funky Homosapien (cousin of Ice Cube, among other things) will headline the Main Stage, and indie rock band the Epilogues caps the night's festivities at 1 a.m. at Larimer Lounge. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy a wide variety of music and check out the art that will be on display at various venues. For food and drink, you can get tacos at Cold Crush, the Meadowlark Kitchen will be open and the Rocky Mountain Slices food truck will be on hand.

With the rapid development of Denver in the past two years, this is a chance to experience in one place in a short period of time a capsule of the sorts of shows and events that are increasingly taking place in the River North District.

Though there are several out-of-town artists playing this year's debut festival, including innovative hip-hop group BadBadNotGood, electro rock band Joywave and electronic dance act Sango, several noteworthy local acts will be playing throughout the event. Experimental hip-hop act Kitty Crimes plays at 8:20 at Larimer Lounge. Atmospheric post-punks Male Blonding take stage at Meadowlark at 7 p.m.. Instant Empire brings its fusion of pop rock and poetic social commentary to Larimer Lounge early in the day at 3 p.m.. Venus Cruz brings her soulful vocals to What Young Men Do at Meadowlark Kitchen at 6:30 p.m..

Below is the full schedule, map and other helpful tips for anyone interested in going. For more information and to buy advance tickets for $15 ($20 day of show) via AXS.com.
