The 2015 iteration of Denver Black Sky festival looks to be a monster, with the announcement that Cleveland hardcore legends Ringworm will play the annual event alongside metal heavyweights Pig Destroyer and Skinless.

The December 5 show at Englewood’s Gothic Theater will also feature some heavy hitters Havok, In The Company of Serpents, Nekrofilth, Khemmis and Axeslasher. The show is part of Relapse Record’s 25th anniversary celebration.

Now in its third year, Denver Black Sky has historically hosted a large contingent of Colorado-based artists and brought Relapse artists like Call Of The Void, Primitive Man, Dying Fetus, Exhumed and Cephalic Carnage to town. The showcase is co-sponsored by Denver’s own metal-themed Black Sky Brewery.

The bands on the bill are some of the biggest hitters in the metal / hardcore scene.

Ringworm, fronted by James 'Human Furnace' Bulloch, has been a staple of the hardcore / metal scene since blowing out of Cleveland in 1991. Ringworm released its latest, “Hammer of the Witch” last march and has toured non stop since, recently announcing a pair of U.S. tours in celebration of the tenth anniversary of its landmark 2005 release “Justice Replaced by Revenge.” Ringworm has been a huge influence on bands such as Terror, Hatebreed and Blood For Blood.

Pig Destroyer has been hailed as "the best grindcore act on the goddamn planet" (MetalSucks), and for good reason. Since 1997, the band has taken the world by storm with its unique and terrifying brand of poetic, punishing grindcore. Most recently, the band reissued a remixed and remastered version of its landmark 2001 Relapse debut, “Prowler in the Yard.”

Skinless began in 1992 with one goal: to be the heaviest band around. In 1998, Skinless released its full-length debut “Progression Towards Evil,” which stunned the underground, showcasing the energy the band had become known for via its intense live performances. After signing to Relapse Skinless released “Foreshadowing Our Demise,” “From Sacrifice To Survival,” and “Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead” between 2001 and 2006. After a break Skinless returned in 2013 with new guitarist Dave Matthews (no relation) and a fifth full-length album “With Only The Ruthless Remain” followed in June of 2015.
