Looking for a dance party? Bay Area electro act The Limousines will be at the Marquis Theater tonight, along with hometown homeboys The Photo Atlas and Saige. The anti-rock and roll duo is on the road in support of its upcoming July debut release, Get Sharp, a collection of minimalist synth and drum machine pop songs about, well, pop culture. Saturday, downtempo Detroit dudes Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. bring their costumed awesomeness to the Hi-Dive with EMA. Formerly of Gowns and Amps for Christ, EMA's harsh and dramatic solo croons create the perfect contrast to the Jr. Jr.'s mix of audio and visual folk-pop humor. (18 & up, 8 p.m. doors, $10-12)
Also this evening, The Buckingham Squares, Supermodified and Voodoo Stingray come together at the Mercury Cafe in an effort to raise money for local gallery institution, Pirate Contemporary Art. This is the second annual fundraiser for the creative space and features a great line-up of locally established rock veterans, including members of Slim Cessna's Auto Club, '57 Lesbian, The Fluid and more. Sunday, catch Manchester Orchestra at Summit Music Hall with Right Away, Great Captain! and Gobotron. A relentless touring machine, this highly productive Athens-based band has released more albums and EPs than each year its been together, including last month's fourth full-length Simple Math.
