Experimental pop-folk songwriter Luke Temple has released a short string of critically acclaimed albums and even had one of his songs featured in an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Within the last year, Temple put together a band called Here We Go Magic to perform his songs and release an album of the same name. The new set of music is not the singer-songwriter fare that characterized Temple's previous work. Instead, the music is almost ambient in its impressionistic use of instrumentation, and the songs are reminiscent of Eno-era Talking Heads or even the more meditative sections of Eno and Byrne's classic My Life in the Bush of Ghosts album. Led by an artist possessed of rare subtlety and imagination, Here We Go Magic seems poised to live up to its name.
