The Fort Collins Music Experiment (or FoCoMX) has, for the past six years, served as the largest showcase for northern Colorado music. Featuring hundreds of bands throughout the city, FoCoMX continues to grow — the Fort Collins Musicians Association (which organizes the event) has just announced some key details about this year's festival:

The 2015 FoCoMX will be held on April 24 and 25, and some of the featured performers are the Patti Fiasco, Stelth Ulvang (of the Lumineers), Wire Faces, Musketeer Gripweed, The Widow’s Bane, Post Paradise, Yawpers, Arliss Nancy, The Holler!, Shatterproof, Danielle Ate the Sandwich and Epilogues. Presale tickets are available now through April 10 for $20; after that they'll go up to $30.

In addition to the broad genre offerings found in years past, this year's FoCoMX will also include chamber orchestra, burlesque, and experimental/noise artists.

As part of today's announcement, FoCoMA included a few additional notes about this year's schedule in the form of "insider picks":

The rock and punk showcases at Surfside 7, including a set by Endless Monster (featuring Karl Alvarez of the Descendents), will mark the final live music shows at Surfside’s long-held North College location.

FoCoMA’s Peer Awards Lifetime Achievement award winner Cary Morin performs at Cache Old Town Bar and Grille.
Sound of Ceres, a dream-pop collaboration, featuring members of Candy Claws, plays at Hodi’s.

KTCL’s popular weekend jockey, Alf, presents DJ Alf’s 45+1, a vinyl-meets-improv set of local artists playing along to hand-picked vinyl recordings, at the Whiskey.

Johnny Hickman and Nathaniel Cook play a duo set, combining Cracker’s founding lead guitarist with the Yawpers’ front man, at Moe’s Original Bar-B-Que.

Good Gravy, Stella Luce, Sour Boy Bitter Girl, Finnders and Youngberg and more, showcase at new FoCoMX venue Illegal Pete’s Fort Collins.

The Young Ancients, Wendy Woo Band, 12 Cents for Marvin and others play afternoon sets at Odell Brewing Company’s popular taproom beer garden.

The Saturday night “local legends” lineup remains a tradition at Avogadro’s Number, including Jeff Finlin, 3 Twins, Liz Barnez and Lindsey O’Brien Band.

Denver-based ATOMGA, fresh from recording at Fort Collins’ Blasting Room studios and following the internet splash of their NPR Tiny Desk video submission, brings socially conscious afro-funk to the Whiskey.
