Inspired by the legendary field recordings of Alan Lomax, James Minchin and our pal Rod Blackhurst have been traversing the country recording various musicians, including one of our personal favorite songwriters, Franky Perez, in a completely stark, unaffected environment. Early on as the two embarked on this project, one of the first artists they recorded was Nathaniel Rateliff playing in his living room, just him and a guitar lit by the beams of sunlight pouring in through the windows. We've been dying to share the footage with you since Rod first shared it with us last year. Rod wasn't ready for anyone to see it yet, though. But now we've finally gotten his blessing to post it here. Enjoy. It's a little slice of amazing.
