Thanks to the fine folks atWired, we just got a look at the new Liars video for the song "Scissors," the first single from the band's upcoming album, Sisterworld, due out on Tuesday, March 9 on Mute Records. And let's just say, seeing the clip gives us high hopes for the band's fifth album.

The video chronicles lead singer Angus Andrew's struggle to survive as rocks pile up in his lifeboat. As with most Liars songs, things aren't always as they seem, and as the song picks up, the video follows suit. We're pretty sure we could mix and match metaphors with the video and the bands history, but we'll leave those to you to figure out.

Considering the diverse history of the Liars, we suspect that Sisterworld will likely be the exact opposite of what we're expecting. The two disc set is slated to include reinterpretations by a slew of indie artists, as well, including, Thom Yorke, Devendra Banhart and Bradford Cox. We're actually pretty excited to discover what the word "reinterpretations" means here, seeing as how Sisterworld isn't explicitly a remix or covers disc. With any luck it'll be one of the few bonus discs we don't toss out.
