After searching for the last year or so for a place to open a rockabilly-themed bar, Jimmy Nigg and his brother just took over the former Cucina Roma Roma spot at 12363 West 64th Avenue in Arvada and hope to re-open it as Rockabillies early next year.

While the bar and restaurant is clearly aimed at the rockabilly subculture and its atmosphere and decorations will certainly fit that designation, Nigg says they don't want to limit themselves to one genre of music, so he and his brother will be bringing a wide range of rock and roll acts on the weekends.

In the next few months, the Nigg brothers will be renovating the former restaurant and essentially starting from scratch and building out a bar, stage and kitchen. As far as food goes, the place will specialize in burgers, and Nigg says he hopes to eventually partner up with someone who knows barbecue.
