A few weeks ago, we mentioned that the Autumn Film is nearly finished with its new album, The Ship and the Sea, which is slated for release at the Walnut Room on Friday, March 5. We just got to hear one of the tracks, and if that tune is any indication, the record sounds pretty promising.

The song in question, a cinematic number titled "Roll Over Me," is driven by the beguiling vocals of Tifah Al Attas (natch). It's a bit of a slow burner that rolls in quietly like storm clouds, on the wings of gently glinting Rhodes, then explodes with an expressive chorus, and then moves on just as quietly as it appeared. As previously noted, those who pre-order the record now will receive a link to the full album download on Friday, February 26, followed by a physical copy, which will be mailed shortly thereafter. Take a listen after the jump.

And now, some scenes from the studio. Good job, Dann. Way to bang that drum.
