1. Houses Note: this video in no way reflects how this band sounds. Listen below. With The Knew, Action Packed Thrill Ride Larimer Lounge Saturday, November 14. Show starts at 10pm. $8 Why you should go: Houses is making a case as the best band in Denver. The seasonal EP releases continue here with Fall. Should be interesting: Spring and Summer were action packed with ass kicking, but Andy Hamilton's blissfully low-key voice and the band's enormous, warm sound would seem to lend themselves better to those first two seasons than the last two. Honestly, as long as they play "We're Alright" and "Fairweather," this show will be the best thing you do this weekend.

2. Pixies With No Age The Fillmore Monday, November 16. Show starts at 8pm. $50 Why you should go: OK, so Monday isn't the weekend, but with the Pixies in town it should be. The ticket price is a little prohibitive, granted, and they'll be hard to come by at this point anyway, but both of those things are true for a reason. The band will be playing Doolittle in its entirety, which we're pretty sure is what happens when we die and go to heaven. Also, No Age is opening this show. If that doesn't get your heart going a little, go listen to "Eraser" until your ears bleed and tell us you aren't drooling afterward.
3. Nathaniel Rateliff and The Wheel With Mason Jennings The Bluebird Friday, November 13. Doors open at 8pm $25.25-$27.00 Why you should go: So technically this is a Mason Jennings show with Rateliff opening, but let's just say we don't recommend you come late to this one. Rateliff's having a hell of a year and is fresh off blowing people's pants off at CMJ. Give it some time and he'll be demanding headlining prices like this of his own everywhere in the country
