In recent days and weeks, there have been a lot of things said about Kristen Parker, an operating-room tech accused of infecting a thus-far-unknown number of patients with hepatitis-C by swapping dirty syringes for clean ones. But the main words attributed to her in this space and elsewhere were from a MySpace page that has since been taken offline -- and all of the comments about her "crazy fascination with needles" were made prior to her arrest.
However, Parker does address the current situation a couple of times in the criminal complaint filed against her in U.S. District Court earlier this month. Here are the key passages:
Sometime in April 2009, Det. Wallis contacted Parker via telephone. Parker made the statement to Det. Wallis, "I know, I fucked up..."She stated she believes she infected the nine patients that CDHPE informed her of. She also stated "I can't take back what I did, but I will have to live with it the rest of my life, and so does everyone else."
