During the early hours of Halloween, a security guard at Lakewood's Club Arriba tried to break up a fight -- and got shot for his trouble. Two people were busted at the scene, but the alleged shooter got away. Now, Lakewood police have identified him as Adam J. Ponce, aka Oso, and they warn he should be treated as armed and dangerous. Detectives Seek Assistance in Locating Suspect in Shooting

November 4, 2010

On 10/31/10 at 1:58 am Lakewood police responded to the Club Arriba at 5255 W 6th Ave. to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival agents located the victim who had sustained a gun shot wound. The victim is a security guard at Club Arriba and was shot while trying to break up a fight on the Westside of the parking lot.

Two associates of the shooter were arrested at the scene however the shooter fled on foot and remains at large. Those arrested were Jose Gutierrez (07/30/68) and Yolanda Davila (05/23/70).

As a result of their investigation, detectives believe the shooter is a Hispanic male identified as Adam J. Ponce (09-26-86) who also goes by the name "Oso".

Ponce is described as 5' 7" 200 lbs. with brown hair (shaved) and brown eyes. Ponce also has the name "Shantelle" tattooed on the right side of his neck and has "18" tattooed on the back of his head.

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Ponce's arrest on charges of attempted homicide, felony menacing and for a felon in possession of a weapon.

Ponce should be considered armed and very dangerous. Anyone who feels they may have information that would assist detectives in locating Ponce, is asked to call detectives Feik or Turnbull at the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
