This week, we'll be unveiling Westword's Best of Denver edition for 2015.
Included among the winners will be this year's choice for Best Hair on a TV Personality — Female, which is annually one of our most competitive categories.
The 2015 champ will join our Follicle Hall of Fame, alongside past champions who've definitely set the hairstyle-bar high.
Below, see our past five winners, featuring photos and the original text from their citations.
Check them out here — and be sure to keep an eye out for the 2015 version, coming very, very soon.
2010: Gloria Neal, CBS4
Best of Denver 2010 award: Longtime local radio personality Gloria Neal is a welcome sight on television — particularly now that she's contributing reports at 6 p.m., when we're a little more awake than we were during her morning appearances and able to appreciate her down-home delivery. Since Neal's hair is shorter than that of most male anchors, viewers can stay focused on the story and not an impossibly complicated spray job.
2011: Karen Leigh, CBS4
Best of Denver 2011 award: Karen Leigh joined the KCNC team as co-anchor in 2008, and it now looks like she has a long career ahead of her — as long as she keeps her flowing tresses. At this point, Leigh's luxurious, lustrous locks seem as suited to a beauty-pageant contestant as they do a news anchor, but viewers have clearly flipped for her long, grown-out flip. Back in Minnesota, she might have needed all that hair to stay warm; here, it's just made her hot.
2012: Nina Sparano, Fox31
Best of Denver 2012 award: Nina Sparano, the technology reporter for Fox 31 and KWGN, has clearly figured out the mechanics of a perfect hairdo. Those brunette locks are downright luxurious, girl.
2013: Anastasiya Bolton, 9News
Best of Denver 2013 award: In a review of the largely forgotten 1985 movie The Year of the Dragon, starring Mickey Rourke, critic Elvis Mitchell coined the term "mood hair," suggesting that Rourke's 'do adapted to the demands of any particular scene like a mood ring reflecting the emotions of the person wearing it. Anastasiya Bolton's hair is something like that — a blend of multi-hued locks that look deadly serious when the topic is grim, fun and sporty when the subject matter is lighter. How does she do it? Hell if we know. But we're still impressed by the way the brainy Bolton's cut seems to have a mind of its own.
2014: Corey Rose, 9News
Best of Denver 2014 award: "How did Corey Rose ever decide to go into TV news? Her glamorous look makes her seem more like a model, a spokeswoman, or one of those actresses who always seem to travel with their own personal wind machine. Her flowing locks, which appear to encompass all the colors of the follicle rainbow without looking bizarre, are so lush and lustrous that they cry out to be whipped around regularly, Willow Smith style. See if you can work that into the next newscast, Ms. Rose. We'll be watching."
