The edibles industry's new packaging regulations go into effect this week, a hash art competition is scheduled downtown and Valentine's Day dinners pop up in this week's cannabis calender.

Don't be surprised if something seems off next time you're in a local dispensary looking for some pot-infused treats. As of February 1, all cannabis-infused edibles must adhere to new packaging and potency regulations-- with stronger child-resistant packaging and individual servings of no more than 10 milligrams of THC. Any edible containing more than 10 mg must individually mark each 10-mg portion. State officials agreed on stricter packaging after numerous public safety controversies.

Enjoy reggae music, Ethiopian food and on-hand growing expertise at Grow Big Supply's Reggae Night, February 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Grow Big Supply, located at 4501 Wynkoop Street. Try your best to avoid brainwash and explosive laughter while watching the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's comedic musical take on Reefer Madness -- the anti-pot propaganda film from 1936. Indulge in a romantic, cannabis-infused meal while enjoying art, wine and the private company of 150 other guests at Edible Events Co.'s "A Threesome with Maryjane" on Valentine's Day, February 14. Ampersand Creations is staging its own heart-inspired dinner on Valentine's Day as well, with a five-course meal and cannabis pairing on February 14 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Green Labs.
