At this point, it's hard to know if a crime took place on the 1900 block of North Ensenada Court yesterday. And if so, what kind.

We know two major facts at this point.

First, a man in that area was found partially stuck under a car.

Second, the investigation into his subsequent death is being shared by traffic investigators and homicide detectives.

Just shy of 11 p.m. last night, Aurora PD public-information officer Detective Shannon Lucy alerted the media to a "possible homicide." She followed around 1 a.m. with a release that mentioned a "suspicious death" and a few bare details that raise the possibility that the man in question was purposefully crushed by a car.

Suspicious Death

On Thursday, May 27, 2010, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Aurora Police Officers responded to the 1900 block of North Ensenada Court on report of a man trapped under a car.

Responding officers found an adult male partially stuck under a sedan at a residence. He was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Major Crimes/Homicide detectives are investigating the incident as a Suspicious Death. It is unclear how the victim ended up under the car or whether he was alone at the time.

It appears that the victim lived at the house where the incident happened.

Investigators are in the process of interviewing witnesses and examining the crime scene. Traffic investigators are assisting the Major Crimes/Homicide detectives.

The identity of the victim is not being released.

Anyone with information can call Det. Chuck Mehl at 303.739.6213.
