Makeup!

That's Carl Cameron, veteran Fox News political reporter, applying pancake makeup prior to a live shot from the DNC-prepped Pepsi Center floor. And he didn't just pat the stuff on. He slowly, meticulously rubbed a puff over every inch of his face for what had to be a good two minutes. It was breathtaking, like watching Picasso clean his brushes or Vanna White touching the letter "Q." But his extra effort paid off. After completing his rap, teasing Hillary Clinton's scheduled speech on Tuesday evening and (natch) intro-ing a John McCain commercial that uses her previous criticisms of Barack Obama against the presumptive Democratic nominee, a member of Cameron's crew said, "Perfect. Now it's rolling. We're one for one."

Thanks, Maybelline -- from Carl and the rest of us. -- Michael Roberts
