Yesterday, Carmelo Anthony told the Denver Post he would take a "hard look" at signing a Nuggets contract extension if he's not dealt to the Knicks, the Lakers or someone else by the February 24 trade deadline. But is there really a scenario that could keep Melo a Nug? The fact that Anthony put his luxury Denver house on sale last year was one of the first signs he was serious about leaving. Now, could the listing provide hope he might change his mind?

The online notice, presented by Kentwood Real Estate, remains active; a buyer is still being solicited. But home owners eager to unload property typically lower the price, particularly on big-ticket mansions, if they sit on the market for a long time. Not in this case, though. The price remains where it did last summer: $9.5 million.

Does this suggest that Melo's keeping his options open? Is he truly open to staying in Denver if the right opportunity doesn't present itself, rather than going to New York as a free agent and potentially losing millions of dollars -- a scenario we offered way back in June 2010? Tough to say -- but wouldn't it be nice?

Here's how the listing describes the property:

FAMOUS ATHLETES ESTATE-5.7 GATED ACRES, 21000 MAIN HOUSE WITH 3 SUPPORT BUILDINGS-7 CAR GARAGE-GUEST HOUSE-SOUND STUDIO-6 STALL BARN W/PASTURE-POND-GATED, FENCED-THEATER-GYM-8 BEDROOMS-15 BATHS-PERFECT CONDITION-DEEP WELL.
