Davis was an accomplished equestrian who competed in a horse show at the 2013 National Western Stock Show and was scheduled to compete again in 2014.
In addition, Governor John Hickenlooper has ordered that flags on all public buildings be lowered to half-staff tomorrow in memory of Davis.
The 2014 National Western Stock Show plans to honor Davis by naming a popular horse event after her. The Gambler's Choice event will be known next year as the Claire Davis Memorial Gambler's Choice Horse Show. The Events Center will also be decorated with a large yellow ribbon in memory of Davis throughout the entire stock show, which is scheduled to take place from January 11 to January 26.

The National Western Events Center is where Claire competed in a horse show during the 2013 National Western Stock Show and was scheduled to compete in 2014.The 108th National Western Stock Show in January will be honoring Claire Davis by naming a horse show in her honor. The popular Hunter and Jumper event known as the Gambler's Choice will be named the Claire Davis Memorial Gambler's Choice Horse Show for the 2014 National Western. A moment of silence will be observed for Claire prior to all ticketed horse show events in the Events Center at this year's Stock Show. In addition, the Events Center will don a large yellow ribbon in memory of Claire Davis throughout the Stock Show, from January 11-26.

There will not be a charge for attending the event at 1:00 p.m. on January 1st, but to ensure that the facility's seating capacity is not exceeded, all those planning to attend will need to have a ticket. Tickets will only be issued at nationalwestern.com or the National Western Box Office beginning December 27 at 10:00 a.m. For those that wish to enjoy the Claire Davis Memorial Gambler's Choice Horse Show, those tickets are on sale now at nationalwestern.com.
