The Boulder Police Department put out an unusual release a short time ago, involving an incident that may have been a crime -- or it might have been perfectly innocent.
On Monday, a pre-teen girl was approached by a man outside a closed recreation center, who asked if she wanted a ride. She said "no" and walked away -- and that was the end of that, fortunately. But in case the man's intentions were criminal and predatory, the Boulder PD whipped up the sketch seen here and are looking for a guy who resembles it.

Boulder Police Department release:
Police investigate suspicious incident outside recreation centerBoulder police are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred on Monday, May 18, outside the South Boulder Recreation Center, 1360 Gillespie Drive. An 11-year-old girl told police that she was approached by an unknown man who offered to give her a ride to the East Boulder Recreation Center. At this point, it is unclear what the person's intentions were or whether a crime occurred, but police would like to speak to the man.
The incident occurred at about 5 p.m. The young girl had gone to the center, unaware that it was closed. As she stood outside the locked door, a man pulled up to her in his truck and asked her if she needed a ride. He said he was headed to the East Boulder Recreation Center. The girl said no and walked away from the man and his vehicle.
The man was described as a white male in his 50s with a white goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt, jeans and a brown belt. The victim was able to work with a police artist to produce a composite sketch, which is attached to this release. The vehicle was described as a silver truck with a darker-colored topper. The topper had two tinted windows on the passenger side.
