Colorado's Cat Zingano On 14 Second Loss to Ronda Rousey: "I Just...F*ck"

For the second time in 2015, a Colorado fighter has come up short in a high-profile national bout.

First, it was Denver boxer Mike Alvarado, who fell to Brandon Rios shortly after being busted on a gun charge.

Now, it's Broomfield-native Cat Zingano, who lost to mixed-martial-arts superstar Ronda Rousey in Saturday's UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship in Los Angeles.

The match was arguably the most heavily hyped ever between female UFC competitors.

The main reason was Rousey, a formidable fighter who's earned a reputation as a fierce and dominating brawler.

Nevertheless, Zingano, who attended Fairview High School in Boulder, was confident that she could take down Rousey.

But it was not to be.

In an apparent effort to surprise Rousey, Zingano, who has a reputation as a slow starter, didn't take any time to get a feel for her opponent.

Instead, she rushed from her corner and immediately engaged Rousey.

If Rousey was caught off guard by this tactic, she didn't show it. She instantly took control and made startlingly quick work of Zingano.

Afterward, Zingano was understandably dazed.

In an interview segment featured in the following clip, she found it hard to put her reaction into words.

When asked by an interviewer about her strategy, she said, "I want to do it again. I just...fuck."

Zingano will have a hard time convincing the UFC powers that be to give her a shot at a Rousey rematch given how quickly she was dispatched.

Meanwhile, Rousey's stock is so high that debate is rife about whether she'll eventually fight a man in the ring.
