We still don't know the name of the seventeen-year-old male arrested in connection with a January 3 homicide near 4th Avenue and Utica Street, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"). But the Denver Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Eloy C. Duran, 25. Autopsy results are not yet final, but here's a guess that stabbing had something to do with it. January 3 release:
On January 3, 2010, at approximately 2:20 a.m., Denver Police received a call regarding a stabbing in the area of 4th Avenue and Utica Street. Denver Police Officers responded to the area and located a male victim in the 400 block of Tennyson Street. The victim appeared to be suffering from stab wounds and was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he died just before noon. Through the investigation it was learned that the victim was at a party in the 400 block of Utica Street. The party was disbursed and while outside the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another individual in which the victim was stabbed. The unidentified suspect fled the scene. This incident is being investigated as a homicide. The exact cause of death and the victim's identity are pending the results of the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.Denver Police are asking anyone with information regarding this crime please contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) or call our Dispatch center at 720-913-2000.
January 4 release:
On January 3, 2010, Denver Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the homicide that occurred at 4th Avenue and Utica Street. Members of the Denver Police Department arrested the juvenile male suspect at his Denver home without incident. He is currently being held for investigation of First Degree Murder. Due to the fact that the suspect is a juvenile his identity will not be released at this time.
