First came two slayings in the Lowry neighborhood. The crime is now said to have been gang-related.
That was followed by a homicide on Pontiac Street. It, too, was spurred by gangs, Denver police say.
Only a killing on Race Street for which a suspect is in custody hasn't been tied to gang violence by the Denver cops. But an additional shooting on Depew that didn't result in a death is also said to have linkage to gangs.
Last night, a community meeting on the gang issue brought out a large crowd and plenty of passion.
The first incident took place at the Lex at Lowry apartment complex, 240 South Monaco, around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 15.
In the beginning, as we reported, police were called to the scene as a result of a noise complaint.
The person who called thought the racket had been caused by fireworks.
Instead, gunshots were to blame.
In addition, said one person at the scene, "my roommate heard people screaming."
What spurred the tragedy? The investigation is currently focusing on a party at the apartment complex.
Presumably, some attendees got into a beef outside the building — and that's when the bullets started to fly.
Yesterday, the Denver coroner's office identified the two men killed as Tyrael Lamar Adams, 28, and Deanthony Clyde Williams, thirty.
The Denver Police Department tweeted about the next slaying at 9:43 p.m. on the 15th.
The home where the shooting took place is on the corner of Pontiac and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The victim in that case has now been ID'd as Jeffrey Starks, 27.
On top of that, a shooting early on Monday, March 16, happened on Depew Street. Here's the tweet from the Denver Police Department, whose reps have now said this incident was gang-related, too.

Of twelve murders that have taken place in Denver thus far in 2015, eight of them had something to do with gangs, police say.
