The Denver Police Department has now identified the dead man as Gerardo Garcia, 31, and one of the injury victims as Steven Maldonado, 35. The third person who was stabbed is not being named because of his age, 17, and the same is true of the alleged knife-wielder. Except that he's even younger: just fourteen. Will he be charged as an adult? Don't know yet -- but here's what the DPD is saying at this point:

On Sunday, February 7, 2010, at approximately 2:50 a.m. Denver Police responded to a residence located at 675 S. Raleigh Street on a possible stabbing. Officers and paramedics arrived on scene and discovered that three people injured as a result of stab wounds outside of this residence. The victims went to the hospital by ambulance. One of the victims, later identified as Gerardo Garcia, DOB: 01/28/1989, died shortly after arriving at Denver Health Medical Center of an apparent sharp force (stab) wound. The two additional surviving victims, Steven Maldonado, DOB: 12/16/1974 and a 17 year old male, also received sharp force injuries.

Detectives conducted several interviews and ultimately identified a fourteen year old male as a suspect. Detectives arrested this male on February 11, 2010. Detectives are holding this male for investigation of Murder in the First Degree. Detectives will present this case to the Denver District Attorney for consideration of formal charges.
