Fans on Twitter and elsewhere have spent months hammering away at the Broncos to get the deal done, and so have members of the sports punditocracy, including ESPN's Michael Wilbon, who accused team executive John Elway of being as cheap as Kmart when it came to his delay in ponying up enough dough to satisfy his superstar defender.
For his part, Miller has kept his cool during the drawn-out process, appearing at one high-profile event after another (and even taking part as a contestant in this season's edition of Dancing With the Stars) without seeming burdened by either doubt or frustration. Clearly, he knew all along that there'd be a happy ending — and a lot of zeroes to the left of a certain decimal point.
