Juggalos — fans of the band Insane Clown Posse — frequently complain about getting a bad rap. As we've previously noted, they see themselves as peaceful, music-loving members of the extended ICP family, even though plenty of cops and the like think they're part of a potentially dangerous quasi-gang.

But image-rehabilitation efforts take hits when Juggalos are arrested in connection with high-profile crimes. Examples include Amanda Suhr's hit-and-run bust in 2014 and Nicholas Damon's alleged assault on a police officer earlier this year.

The latest example: the arrest of Pueblo's Carlos Warclub and Ruth Smith for alleged sexual exploitation of a child, aggravated incest and more, based on a tip about disturbing photos that originated in the United Kingdom.

Warclub and Smith both have active Facebook pages, and some of the photos of them together aren't directly related to ICP fandom. Here's an example:

However, the gallery on Warclub's page is filled with pics of the pair (as well as a child) in Juggalo-friendly makeup. Here's one of Smith on her own....

...and another shot of the pair together:

In addition, the most recent post on Warclub's page is this graphic:

There are no photos of a sexual nature involving children among the galleries of either Warclub or Smith — but her page is dominated by soft-core erotic anime illustrations like this:

Such imagery is hardly shocking. But the Pueblo Police Department maintains that other material tied to the couple most certainly is.

The pair were arrested late Monday, June 1, at their residence on the 2600 block of Delphinium in Pueblo. The area is captured in the following interactive graphic; if you have problems seeing the image, click "View on Google Maps."

According to the PPD, the inquiry into the pair was prompted by a call from a detective with the Wellington, Cheshire, Constabulary in the United Kingdom.

That agency was involved in what's described as "an ongoing investigation where pictures had been sent to Great Britain from parties later confirmed to be Ruth Smith and Carlos Warclub."

Those photos allegedly "depicted sexual acts with a young female child," the department maintains.

As a result of the investigation that followed, Warclub and Smith were taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, aggravated incest, sexual exploitation of children, procurement of a child for sexual exploitation, child abuse and Internet sexual exploitation of a child.

The child in question is safe, having been turned over to the Department of Social Services. In the meantime, the investigation into the activities of Smith and Warclub is continuing.
