Look Out, Great American Beer Fest: These Pot Events Have Music, Munchies & More

It's hard for any non-beer-related event to compete with Great American Beer Festival week and its long, long list of sudsy shindigs. But there's still plenty of pot knowledge to be spread around through the numerous classes and meet-ups in this week's Cannabis Calendar.

Meet and mingle over music and munchies at an All Times High marijuana industry mixer tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. at Knew Conscious Gallery. Everyone from business owners to bud trimmers is invited to this social, which features live music and art, plus gift bags that include two tickets for a private commercial-grow tour. Tickers are $4.20 apiece at the event's Meetup page. 21+

The Grow School will hold a Grow 101 class on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For $149, students will learn about growing laws, equipment, air circulation, fertilization and more; course registration includes an online textbook. The southeast Denver address of the class will be revealed upon registration. Check out the Grow School website for more information.

Clover Leaf University is offering a new class — Lighting for Maximum Yields in Commercial Cultivation — on Saturday, September 26, from 2 to 4:20 p.m. at 3888 East Mexico Avenue, Unit 136. Students will learn about different aspects of lighting, photosynthesis and how to get the highest crop yield for commercial cannabis cultivation facilities from industry professional Jair Gavita. Registration is $99 on the course page.


Local artist Heidi Keyes will teach her 21+ Puff, Pass and Paint class at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at 2087 South Grant Street. All equipment is included in the $50 fee, and although cannabis consumption (bring your own) is encouraged, it's not required. Go to the Puff, Pass and Paint website for more information.

Sick of paying $20 for a pot-infused candy bar? Learn how to make your own at Clover Leaf University's Cannabis Culinary Arts class on Tuesday, September 29, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 3888 East Mexico Avenue. Your edibles education, taught by industry professionals, will include how to make pot-infused butter, oil, candy and dinner entrees. Course ends with a certificate of completion. Registration is $299 at the CLU course page.

On Wednesday, September 30, Green Labs will host Bend and Blaze – a free, 21+ yoga class with optional cannabis consumption – from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. Participants must register on the Bend and Blaze eventbrite page.
