That's a shame, according to Jody Cohn, principal at Bromwell Elementary School. In a letter to parents regarding a town meeting on medical marijuana scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. tonight at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 East Seventh Avenue, Cohn notes that two dispensaries are within 1,000 feet of the Bromwell campus. She adds, "Although the establishments were granted licensure before the 1,000 feet restriction was put into place, I remain concerned and support efforts that allow for the reconsideration of this 'grandfather clause.'"
Expected to attend the meeting are state senators Lois Court and Chris Romer -- the latter a co-sponsor of HB-1284. Look below to read the rest of Cohn's letter.
Dear Bromwell Families,As many of you may know, I am concerned about the proximity of the Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in relation to our school. Currently, we have two MMD's located less than 1,000 feet from Bromwell. One MMD is located on 2719 Third Avenue, and the other is located on 300 University Blvd.

Tomorrow, April 14th at Good Sheppard Church (SE corner of Elizabeth Street and 7th Avenue) Chris Romer and Lois Court will be holding a town meeting from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. If you would like to attend, it may be a great opportunity for parents to directly express concerns and/or seek clarification.
