In fact, there is a special place for cool moms like this: jail.
Earlier this week, Brighton mom Michelle Manzanares, forty, was arrested on charges of regularly supplying her daughter -- a teenager at Vikan Middle School -- and five of her daughter's young friends with party supplies of an adult nature.
According to news reports, a school resource officer at Vikan was concerned about the girl and asked to look at photos on her cell phone. The officer allegedly found dozens of photos of the girl and her friends drinking booze and smoking pot at home. The school then contacted the police, who also claim to have a video from the phone that shows Manzanares supplying the kids with vodka and marijuana.
In it, the girls are smoking from a glass pipe when Manzanares walks into the bedroom, and "one of the girls says: 'Did you get my liquor?'" What happens next? According to a Denver Post story: "Manzanares then pulls a bag from her hooded sweat shirt and gives it to her daughter. The girls in the room become emotional with excitement saying they are, 'Gonna get (messed) up tonight.'"
Manzanares has been charged with a pair of felonies -- contributing to the delinquency of a minor and distribution of marijuana to a minor, as well as child abuse.
She is currently in cool mom jail, in lieu of bond. Here's a larger look at Manzanares's mug shot.
