Update: Last week, we reported that Dynel Lane, the woman who allegedly cut the unborn baby from the womb of Michelle Wilkins, had been charged with eight felonies, but not murder, because the Boulder County coroner couldn't find an indication that there had been a "live birth" in the case.
But in her first post on a GoFundMe page raising money for her care, Wilkins makes no mention of Lane or the crime committed against her.
Instead, she focuses on gratitude for the outpouring of support she's received from the community at large — and refers to Aurora, the baby she lost, as having been transformed into a "light being."

I wanted to thank everyone again for the prayers and positive thoughts that have been deeply felt and helped my healing. Also for your generous contribution to the gofundme account to help with expenses. I can already feel it's going to be a long journey to physical and emotion recovery, but I am grateful for every person that has reached out to help in their own way. You have my eternal gratitude. Aurora is a light being now, nothing but ethereal joy and love. Forever in my heart.
As we reported last week, Klingenschmitt, who was elected to the state House of Representatives from a district near Colorado Springs, had attempted to politicize the attack on Wilkins by suggesting that it was a punishment by God prompted by America's abortion laws.
Afterward, Klingenschmitt donated $1,000 to the GoFundMe page. However, as Fox31 reported, Wilkins's family returned it — and an unrepentant Klingenschmitt refused to apologize for his actions, maintaining that he was only making a Biblical reference. In his words, “If other people are offended by the Bible, that’s okay, they don’t have to agree with me or come to my church or watch my TV show. It’s a free country.”

Original post, 6:21 a.m. March 25: We've been keeping you up to date on the latest developments involving Michelle Wilkins, who was seven-months pregnant when her unborn baby was cut from her womb, allegedly by Dynel Lane, for whom charges are still pending.
Most of the news about her situation has been grim — but at last, we have glad tidings to pass along.
Wilkins has now been released from the hospital.
But she's got a long road of recovery yet to travel.
As we've reported, Wilkins has ties to North Carolina, and ABC11, a station from the state, offers additional information about her background.
Here's an excerpt from its report:
Michelle Wilkins grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and attended Appalachian State University, but her family's roots are in Person County.Tony tells the station that the baby, which didn't survive, would have been Michelle's first — and the first grandchild for her parents,
Her parents are at her bedside in a Colorado hospital and are constantly relaying information to other family like Tony Wilkins. He's a cousin who remains in Person County.
Tony Wilkins can't believe what's happened to Michelle — a woman who he describes as a free spirit who loves everyone.
"Michelle's always been a person who is kind hearted, a free spirit, has a love for all mankind, and I can't imagine what she's going through at this time," said Tony.
Nonetheless, he says Michelle "just wants everyone to know that she's just so grateful. We've all rallied together as we always do and we are a very, very strong family with a lot of support network, so we will get through this."
In the meantime, the GoFundMe.com page raising money for her care shows donations in excess of $42,000 toward a $50,000 goal at this writing.
