Weekends and evenings tend to spawn more violence than weekday mornings -- but today was an unfortunate exception. Just past 9 a.m. today, Denver Police arrived at 4914 North Enid Way, a residence captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"), to find two gravely wounded individuals: one female, one male. The woman subsequently died, while the man is in critical condition as of a report just issued by the DPD. The names of both are being withheld at this time. Read the official release below:

On June 23, 2009, at approximately 9:08 a.m. Denver Police responded to a call for assistance at 4914 N. Enid Way. Upon their arrival, police found two people suffering from apparent knife wounds inside the home. Paramedics transported a female victim to University Hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. Paramedics transported a male to Denver Health Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. Denver police are investigating the death as a homicide. Investigators are withholding the identity of the female pending positive identification by the Coroner's Office and notification of next of kin. Release of the identity of the male subject is pending further investigation.
