At about 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the APD, officers were dispatched to an area near 28th and Wheeling.
Callers said the man in question appeared to be dead, and when officers arrived, they found him to be unresponsive, presumably as a result of what are described as several visible wounds, apparently caused by stabbing. He was quickly transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At this point, the man's name has not been released, even though family members appear to have been informed.Yesterday morning, a number of them were on the scene, with one woman telling a CBS4 crew that the victim was her son.
Police have not identified the sort of weapon used in the crime, and they say no suspect information is available at this time. Our condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of the victim in this case. Here's the aforementioned CBS4 report.
