Raymond Swisher was arrested on January 15, but charges weren't announced until today. Why?

Maybe because it took that long to count up all the bad things he allegedly recorded himself doing. In the end, he hit triple digits via 85 counts of indecent exposure and fifteen alleging unlawful sexual contact. Congratulations!

How did he get caught? According to the arrest affidavit (read it here), one of Swisher's ex-girlfriends found a DVD in his apartment when she was giving him a ride to work. Because the date on it corresponded to the period when they were intimate (and because she hadn't given him permission to record their lovemaking), she took it home -- and it was shocked by what she saw.

Turns out there were three separate discs, one of which featured Swisher having sex with a different woman; she asked that he turn off the lights, but he made an excuse to leave them on. The other two included various sequences of him exposing himself to children, with the camera set up to record the looks on their faces when he bared all.

Shortly thereafter, the woman called the Denver Police Department, who found more recordings. About 250 of them.

At the end of the long, sordid affidavit, which describes incidents of apparently consensual sex recorded without the female partner's knowledge (hence, the unlawful sexual contact accusations) and weenie wagging at places like hotel pools (the indecent exposure charges), the arresting officer notes that he and his fellow officers were still reviewing the discs, tapes, etc. He wrote that further charges "may be appropriate."

Yeah -- like a hundred of them. Here's the Denver District Attorney's Office release on Swisher's charges:

MAN CHARGED WITH 100 COUNTS IN INDECENT EXPOSURE CASES

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has filed charges against a man in connection with multiple incidents of indecent exposure and unlawful sexual contact.

Raymond Swisher (dob: 03-18-66) is charged with eighty-five counts of indecent exposure (M1) and fifteen counts of unlawful sexual contact (M1).

The charges allege that Swisher exposed himself repeatedly in public places over the last several years; the charges further allege that Swisher secretly recorded consensual sex with a number of women without their knowledge. According to the arrest affidavit, numerous DVDs and video cassettes were seized from Swisher's residence.

Swisher remains in custody in the Denver County Jail; his bond for all his cases is set at $195,000. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Courtroom 186L on February 11, 2010 at 9 a.m. for his next court appearance.
