See Ten Accused Child Sex Predators, Including Teacher David Hocker

The 17th Judicial District DA's office has announced the arrest of ten men in an Adams County sex trafficking sting that took place on January 21 and 22.

All ten have been charged with at least one count related to child prostitution.

The operation was conducted in conjunction with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations — and three of the ten are said to be illegal immigrants from Mexico. After they're prosecuted, they will be the subject of deportation proceedings.

The most startling information, however, involves David Hocker, 35, a substitute teacher who most recent worked for a learning center at Warren Village, a nonprofit that touts services for single-parent households.

According to 7News, Hocker was on the job for just eight days at Warren Village's Greta Horwitz Learning Center in an after-school care capacity.

Sharon Knight, Warren Village's president and CEO, notes that termination actions were already underway against him prior to the news about his arrest — although the reasons for his dismissal were unrelated to any untoward behavior toward children at the learning center.


She tells Fox31 that Hocker didn't show up for work without advance notice one day, and when personnel checked on him, they found out he didn't plan to return.

Knight adds that Hocker was never alone with children at the learning center and there's no evidence that he victimized anyone there.

As for the events that led to his arrest, Fox31 obtained an affidavit that contains the following text exchange between Hocker and an undercover operative:

"Are you available"

"yes hun, got 2 young girls ru interested?"

"Yes what are your donation rates?"

"got 11 and 14 year old girls...200 hr. or rates for both"

"For both"

"...300 hr. for both"

"Sounds good where are you located"

"commerce city hun, what time ru thinkin?"

"7.... Both for an hour"


He subsequently discovered that the children in this scenario were fictional — but his arrest most certainly was not.

Hocker isn't the only arrestee with a connection to education. 

The DA's office reveals that Surat Suvanprateep "is an employee of Aurora Public Schools but works in a warehouse position that does not put him in contact with children."
