Again this year, Starz Denver Film Festival artistic director Brit Withey is offering his must-see picks for each day of the fest -- including many flicks that movie lovers might otherwise miss amid the flood of silver-screen goodies.

Here, he shares his choice for tonight: You've Been Trumped.

You've Been Trumped Directed by Anthony Baxter 4 p.m. Thursday, November 10 Denver FilmCenter/Colfax

"I see so many documentaries, and a lot of them have environmental slants to them one way or the other," notes Withey. "You can agree with them or not. But this one made me angry.

"The backstory is that Donald Trump wanted to build a one billion pound golf course in northeast Scotland, and to do so, of course, he would be destroying all sorts of environmentally semi-protected -- because they didn't protect them well enough -- beach sand dunes and a lot of properties that people have lived on for generations. The local government didn't approve, and the plans were temporarily stopped. But then the national government stepped in and overrode this decision, because it's a billion pounds.

"The film details the progress as construction starts and Trump has to fight locals who don't want to move. He does everything in his power to harass them, including getting their water supply cut off, and getting this filmmaker arrested. It's the most atrocious kind of behavior I've seen in a long time.

Director Baxter "approached the subject as a journalist wanting to expose something, as opposed to a filmmaker wanting to make a documentary -- and he's coming from Scotland for the screening, which will be very interesting, I'm sure."
