We've been reporting about the murder of Shane Richardson, which took place early on May 2 in an apartment over Rosenberg's Bagels & Deli.

After Richardson was killed, a fire was set in the apartment that forced Rosenberg's to close, and more than three weeks later, it still hasn't reopened — though a Facebook post notes that the deli's crew will be on hand at the Source Marketplace this Sunday, May 29.

In the meantime, there's been a break in the homicide case. Brian Pattison, a self-employed tattoo artist, has been arrested and charged in Richardson's death.

As we've reported, a blaze broke out on the second floor of the Rosenberg's building early on May 2.

Denver firefighters responded to the scene, where they extinguished the blaze and found Richardson.

His body is said to have been located in a closet.

At this writing, authorities have kept the vast majority of information about the case to themselves; Pattison's arrest affidavit remains sealed.

However, a Denver District Attorney's Office release maintains that "Pattison killed Shane Richardson sometime between April 30, 2016 and May 2, 2016." The date variance suggests that Richardson may have been dead for a day or more before the fire was set.

Richardson is known on Facebook as Shane Blackardson, and that's how his friends and family refer to him.

His Facebook gallery includes portraits like this one....

...and this one.

The final post on his timeline, dated April 29, shows him paragliding....

...and indeed, this activity appears to have been one of his passions.

Below, see a paragliding video featuring Richardson and a friend.

Here are some of the Facebook remembrances that appeared following Richardson's death:
My heart is heavy and my brain is scrambled.. I Still can't make sense of any of it. Rest in peace my Scorpio friend, Shane Blackardson I've been thinking of you constantly. I'm glad we got to spend time and hang out just a few short weeks ago..even better that we talked a few days ago. I'll cherish every memory we've shared, and I know you're looking down on all of us, telling us to be strong. I'll try to be strong. We'll live for you, in your memory. None of this is right, but I know this is never goodbye. I'll see you soon Shane.

You were like a big brother to me, and taught me lots. I have a lot of great memory's with you, skating in my parents back yard...camping on your trampoline and of course who can forget you riding that unicycle around the neighborhood that no one else could even make it 10 feet. Thanks for the great memory's you will be missed brother, Shane Blackardson.

You taught me the courage of stars before you left.
How light carries on endlessly, even after death.
With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite.
How rare and beautiful it is to even exist.
RIP Shane Blackardson
As for Pattison, seen in this photo....

...his Facebook intro says that he studied personal training at Penn State and is self-employed.

Richardson/Blackardson was one of his Facebook friends.

In addition to photos with family members and loved ones, Pattison's Facebook gallery includes the shot at the top of this post, in which he shows off his tattoo equipment, and numerous shots of what are presumably his inky creations.

Here's one example....

...and this one.:

Somewhere along the line, though, Pattison got into trouble with the law.

Fox31 reports that Pattison's criminal history dates back to 2005 and includes charges of "dangerous drug possession, burglary, speeding 25 to 39 mph over the speed limit, escaping a felony conviction and carrying a concealed weapon."

And indeed, his most recent Facebook post, dated May 16, reveals that he knew he was headed back inside more than a week before his arrest was announced.

The item reads:
I'm currently in jail and will go back to prison. Write me at Brian Scott Pattison. 2309 E. Main. Trinidad CO 81082. That's the jail.
This remains the case. Pattison is currently being held in what is formally known as the Las Animas County Jail, at the address above, and the Denver DA's Office has charged him with first-degree murder, first-degree arson and multiple counts of possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Our sincere condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of Shane Richardson, aka Shane Richardson. Here are two booking photos of Brian Pattison.
