The Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, profiled in this Westword feature, has had plenty of bank robberies to investigate of late. But at least three of the most memorable jobs, committed on December 2, December 9 and December 15, may have been the work of the same criminals, dubbed the Hopping Hooded Bandits, due to their proclivity for jumping over counters to collect their booty.

Now, the FBI is pulling back those hoods (and dropping a "g") to reveal the identities of the men suspected of being Hoppin Hooded Bandits: Joshua Licona, who's in custody, and Timothy McGlothin, still at large. A grand jury indicted the pair last month -- but the bank they're accused of knocking over is different from those mentioned in the blogs linked above; it's the Bank of Denver, at 800 East 17th Avenue. Could more charges be pending? Hard to tell -- but look below to see the latest U.S. Justice Department release, as well as photos from an earlier heist.
