Within the limits of the tubular milieu, the only thing more entertaining than simply watching TV is making fun of it. This is the tried-and-true tack taken by the local comedy sketch group Nietzsche's Moustache in its new spoof 60 Minutes: the Musical!, which opens today at the Avenue Theater for a run that continues through the end of August. In it, the regular 60 Minutes team becomes simultaneously incapacitated and replaced by the correspondents from hell (i.e. Nietzsche's Moustache), who sing, dance and satirize their way through an episode featuring typical newsmagazine staples -- interviews, commercial parodies and Broadway-style numbers -- that garner atypical results.

Laugh your way through 60 Minutes: The Musical! weekly on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., through August 25. Get information about additional performances during the run or reserve tickets, which go for $12, by visiting the Avenue Theater website or by calling 303-321-5925.
