Every ski area bids the season adieu with a big, sloppy snowball of slushy hoopla. But Vail can confidently declare its ginormous Spring Back to Vail to be one of the biggest spring bashes in Colorado's high country, not to mention the entire nation. It's so chock-full of stuff to do before and after hitting the slopes that last-time skiers won't even dream of being bored. Events, which kicked off yesterday evening and continue through Sunday, include a whirlwind of après and post-après parties, giveaways, lots of live music, an Eco Village green expo, a pub crawl and the Brietling All Mountain Film Competition Premiere Party (featuring three-minute videos shot on Vail Mountain terrain by two-person teams over the previous four days). Still, the biggest draws would certainly be the free concerts, featuring retro-rocker Chris Isaak on Friday and O.A.R. on Sunday, not to mention the ever-inventive Tuaca World Pond Skimming Championships on Saturday.

So much to do, so little time: Pack up your skis and boards and go! For all the details visit the Spring Back to Vail website.
