Update:
What had been an investigation into a triple shooting at McDonough's Irish Pub in Aurora has turned into a murder investigation.

As we've reported (see our previous coverage below), two women and one man were shot outside the venue at around 2 a.m. on July 31 following a hip-hop-night event.

One woman was hit in the leg, while the other suffered a wound in the shoulder area. However, the man was critically wounded and eventually succumbed to his injuries.

He's been identified by the Arapahoe County coroner as Arthur Potts, 28. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

The Aurora Police Department reportedly has no suspects — or at least none that reps are sharing publicly at this point. However, there is a vehicle of interest: an SUV.

Unfortunately, no further description of the vehicle has been shared.

If you have any information, you're encouraged to contact APD Agent Ingui at 303-739-6067 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, 720-913-TIPS (7867), which is offering a reward of up to $2,000 in the case.

In the meantime, we offer our condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of Arthur Potts. See our previous coverage below.

Original post, 5:39 a.m. July 31: During the early morning hours, gunfire rang out on Iliff Avenue.

Three people were shot, with one said to have suffered a life-threatening wound.

The location offered up by the Aurora Police Department corresponds to McDonough's Irish Pub, a watering hole known for its bargain-priced libations.

Last night, however, Irish music was reportedly superseded by hip-hop.

The address in question is 10395 East Iliff Avenue, an area captured in the following interactive graphic.

McDonough's can be seen on the right side of the graphic's initial image.

Here's how we described the venue in our listing:

McDonough's Irish Pub is more of a well-worn dive than a typical Irish pub. But in keeping with a dive, McDonough's serves some of the cheapest drinks in this section of Aurora near the intersection of Parker Road and Iliff Avenue. One half of the bar has a pool table and dartboards, while the other half is where the heavy drinking goes down. It also has a decent-sized smoking patio. There's usually live music on the weekends and Texas Hold 'Em on Sundays and Wednesdays.
At this writing, the only official communication about the incident comes via this tweet from the Aurora Police Department, sent out just past 3 a.m.:

In the wake of this alert, reporters such as Fox31's Jim Hooley rushed to the scene. He subsequently shared this Twitpic:

Thus far, no names have been released, and neither has the Aurora PD delivered any details about the circumstances of the shooting.

However, Hooley reports that one woman was shot in the leg and the second was hit in the left shoulder.

The man, meanwhile, was critically wounded. He was taken by a private vehicle to the University of Colorado hospital.

He adds that the entertainment on tap had been a "hip-hop night."
