For his incredible performance during the Broncos' Super Bowl 50 win, Von Miller was named the game's Most Valuable Player — and deservedly so.
But he's got a reason to be wearing the expression seen in the photo above, which he shared on his must-follow Instagram page yesterday.
His MVP honors didn't come with a car — something winners have long received.
Instead, he received a silver, football-shaped trophy made by Tiffany & Co,, as seen at the center of this twitpic:
As noted by 9News, the tradition of a championship game MVP winning a car goes back to what is now referred to as Super Bowl I (although it wasn't called that at the time), when Green Bay Packers QB Bart Starr was given a new Corvette. The Lombardi & MVP trophy ahead of the presentation to coach Kubiak & Von Miller #SB50 pic.twitter.com/9EMRIrHGoz

And Starr received another 'Vette for taking the prize the next year.
Other proud Corvette owners include Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.
He received his for earning the MVP nod in the 2013 Super Bowl — a game to which the Ravens advanced after upsetting the Broncos in the playoffs. See him posing with the vehicle below.
This year, however, the NFL reportedly didn't have a Super Bowl car sponsor — which is, frankly, astonishing to us.
So Von got left at curbside.
Fortunately, he's getting plenty of other recognition these days.
Here's a shot of Miller with Conan O'Brien snapped prior to the Super Bowl....
...and he's slated to appear on The Ellen Show today.
Here's a preview image of him from the program.
Moreover, he endeared himself to Broncos fans everywhere — and contributed mightily to our Cam Newton is a Crybaby memes gallery — by sharing this image of the Carolina Panthers dabbing while wearing the Crying Jordan face.
But we still think he's getting the short end of the stick shift.
Fortunately, though, there's a solution.
The general manager of the Broncos, one John Elway, happens to be namesake of John Elway Chevrolet.
Moreover, Chevrolet is the manufacturer of — you guessed it — the Corvette.
Yes, Miller is expected to receive a giant new contract from the Broncos in the not-too-distant future.
It's expected to be worth more than $100 million.
But it's the thought that counts — and we think Elway should give Miller the Corvette he so richly deserves.
Here's a video of the Ravens' Flacco receiving his MVP wheels.
