According to the Aspen Daily News, Montag, 67, is currently a resident of Glenwood Springs. He's been working as an alpine coach at the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, where he coached skiers under the age of twelve. In a statement shared by the Daily News, a club spokesman revealed that Montag has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. The statement added that the allegations against Montag -- three counts each of incest and sexual assault by a person in a position of trust -- are unrelated to the club, described as a youth-sports organization with approximately 2,300 members.
As for the acts themselves, they're said to have taken place for several years in the mid-1990s and involved a family member beginning when she was thirteen. CBS4 maintains that the individual in question is neither Heidi nor her sister, Holly, who also made appearances on The Hills, the MTV reality show that transformed Heidi and her now-husband, Spencer Pratt, into celebrities.More details come from TMZ, which references arrest documents in the case. The reports state that William Montag "groomed" the victim "with back rubs in her bedroom in the basement of their home" that eventually escalated to the point where he tried to insert a vibrator into her vagina. Then, when the girl was sixteen, he allegedly began performing oral sex on her.
The last incident in the doc cited by TMZ dates to 1998. At that time, William allegedly climbed into bed with the teen, tried to pull down her underwear and said, "I want to have sex with you.""Get the hell out of my room, no!" the teen is quoted as responding. After that, the report says William told her, "I thought that's what you wanted. I thought you loved me the way I love you."
The charges come from the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, because the crimes allegedly took place in Centennial; 7News notes that they were first reported in June. He was arrested on Thursday without incident at the Aspen ski club.
Thus far, Heidi Montag has not shared anything about the arrest of her father on either her Twitter account or Facebook page, whose most recent posts include plenty of plugs for Marriage Boot Camp.
However, TMZ reports that "sources who are very close to Heidi and Spencer" say the couple feels the accuser "is determined to destroy the family" and has stalked them at assorted public appearances at which she was removed by security. The same sources add that Heidi and Spencer believe her father "will be exonerated."
