It's World Kugel Day at Mizel Museum, 400 South Kearney Street, and if you're unfamiliar with the celebrated dish, Westword's arts and culture editor Susan Froyd offers a perfect explanation:

"Kugel (if you're not lucky enough to already know this) comprises a variety of baked puddings -- some sweet and made with noodles, some savory and potato- or vegetable-based -- that are a mainstay of Ashkenazic Jewish-mother cooking (in which everyone's mom makes the best), and they are all absolutely delish, in every comfort-foodie sense of the word."

The celebration runs from 2 to 5 p.m. and costs $10 for members, $15 nonmembers or $25 for a family, delicious eats included. Visit the museum's website for more information.
