The Art and Ale Brew Festival goes down from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight at the Wildlife Experience Museum, 10035 South Peoria Street in Parker. Attendees can sample beers from over thirty local breweries and food from local restaurants while exploring the galleries and exhibits of the museum -- and live music from Flock of Beagles will cap off the night. Check the website for a full line up of vendors and to purchase tickets.Sunday, August 19:It's World Kugel Day at Mizel Museum, 400 South Kearney Street, and if you're unfamiliar with the celebrated dish, Westword's arts and culture editor Susan Froyd offers a perfect explanation:
"Kugel (if you're not lucky enough to already know this) comprises a variety of baked puddings -- some sweet and made with noodles, some savory and potato- or vegetable-based -- that are a mainstay of Ashkenazic Jewish-mother cooking (in which everyone's mom makes the best), and they are all absolutely delish, in every comfort-foodie sense of the word."
