Denver is brimming with tasty events that benefit terrific causes today. You can sample some of the finest foods Denver has to offer, sip tantalizing cocktails and crack open craft beers — all with the knowledge that you're doing it for your community.

Join EatDenver and more than forty independent restaurants at the fifth annual Big Eat, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Galleria at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.  “The Big Eat is beyond just throwing a great party. We want to create a memorable event and provide a true taste of Denver,” says Adam Schlegel, executive director of EatDenver. “There is so much artistry to being a restauranteur. We want to help showcase their passion alongside their peers and partners.” You can take in a little of that passion through small bites from EatDenver restaurants, cocktails shaken up by some of Denver's top mixologists and craft beer from local breweries. And it's all being done in an environmentally responsible way: The Big Eat has been named a Certifiably Green event by the city. “The Big Eat’s commitment is for zero impact. Divert our waste. Encourage energy-efficient transportation and highlight our local food. We want to be a leader in sustainable events and become a resource for future events to act accordingly,” notes Schlegel. To sweeten the deal, all of this responsible deliciousness will support EatDenver, with extra donations going to Work Options for Women, Denver Urban Gardens and Colorado Cooking Matters. Tickets are $55; you can learn more and grab your tickets here.

The Butterfly Pavilion will host A Midsummer Night's Dream, a wine-tasting event to benefit The Center's Transgender Program, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. You can enjoy all the pavilion has to offer while sipping a variety of wines, noshing on appetizers and bidding on items in the wine-themed silent auction. Tickets are $65 per person, and all proceeds benefit Transgender Programs at The Center. For tickets and more information, click here.

Balistreri Vineyards invites you to Indulge in hors d'oeuvres, desserts and plenty of Balistreri wines from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight — and it's all for CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties. The evening also features music and live and silent auctions; proceeds will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates and help provide support for abused and neglected children in the community. Balistreri Vineyards is located at 1946 East 66th Avenue, and tickets are $55 per person or $100 for two; purchase yours here
