The goal was to bring attention to women in the industry and to inspire people to get into the industry or to become homebrewers. But the brew-day in late February was also a chance for the women -- of whom there are very few in the brewing industry -- to get to know each other, to talk shop and to talk about their careers.
Most of the attendees brew as a significant portion of their jobs, but some are also involved in chemistry and lab work, sensory analysis, sales and marketing, cellaring, operations, packaging and slinging suds in the tap room.
Ellegance is a 4.5 percent ABV beer. It will go on tap from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, at the Wynkoop and will also be on tap at the Falling Rock. From there, several other bars and restaurants may serve it in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins.
