Food pods, farmers' markets and street parties have spread through the Denver food scene. Now, from the Bakken brothers at Basic Kneads Pizza, comes the first mobile vendor-related pop-up restaurant we've seen in this city -- something we predict will rapidly catch on.

Channeling the family gatherings that spurred their experimentation with pizza, Reid, Eric and Joel Bakken will head over to the Eliot Street Collective, 2460 Eliot Street, on October 15 and 16 and set up the wood-fired pizza oven.

"The event is family-friendly," says Eric. "We encourage people to come and gather in this community setting."

The pizza-monger will provide pies, salads and desserts, as well as empty cups for diners who want to bring adult beverages to the community gathering (the vendor will have family-friendly drinks on hand, too).

Basic Kneads will be at the collective from 5 to 10 p.m. both nights.
