You don't have to wait for 2014 to have some food-focused fun. Join the crew at Strange Brewing Company from 6 to 8:30 p.m. tonight for a unique beer and cheese pairing. Sip the GABF award-winning beers while indulging in fine cheese from Marczyck Fine Foods, as well as a variety of meats and chocolates. Tickets are $25; purchase them online.

Also today, Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge will kick off another solo piano series from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. with special guest Camilla Vaitaitis, a pianist pursuing her bachelor's degree in jazz at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. In addition to the music, there will also be a killer dinner special that includes prime rib with sides for only $20, along with such drink deals as Hangar One vodka martinis for $4 and Michelob Light cans for $2. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31 You can ring in the new year at restaurants around town. Adelitas Cocina y Cantina is offering a arne asada and lobster dinner from 5 to 10 p.m.; the evening includes a dance party and free tequila toast when the clock strikes midnight. There is no cover charge for the dance; dinner is $39.95 per person. To reserve a spot, call 303-778-1294.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 1 Keith Oxman has played tenor sax with such notable artists as Sonny Stitt, Art Blakey and Buddy Rich and will be gracing the stage at Tamayo will kick-start its Mole Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. today, with two traditional mole sauces: mole poblano and green mole. Executive chef Arnold Rubio who says the Tamayo kitchen will also cook up two other moles that show the influences of Oaxaca, Mexico. Guests have the choice to pair these moles with any protein preference (chicken, beef, pork or shrimp) or the cheese enchilada sampler; prices are in the works. But if you go early, you can hit the happy hour which runs from 2 to 7 p.m. and features $5 margaritas and $3 tacos and tortas. For more information, call the restaurant at 720-946-1433.
