The retail duplex on West 38th Avenue that at one point housed El Alamo Mexican restaurant now has a liquor store on the left-hand side and a vacant space on the right. But the owner of Cana Liquors,  Kamran Bhatti, is taking advantage of that vacancy: He'll be opening Mr. India's BBQ in the spot later this year.

Bhatti says his restaurant will feature Indian cuisine with a buffet as well as "special Indian barbecue"; he's applied for a full liquor license so that Mr. India's will be able to serve beer, wine and liquor. This part of northwest Denver has been short on Indian cuisine, but the addition of Mr. India's means that the Berkeley neighborhood will soon have two, since Biju Thomas recently announced that he'll be opening a second Biju's Little Curry Shop on Tennyson Street.

Bhatti has not yet set a date for the opening of Mr. India's BBQ.
