Monday, October 24:

The Pearl Street Steak Room, 1035 Pearl Street in Boulder, hosts its grand-opening celebration. Visit www.pearlstreetsteakroom.com.

Palace Arms, 321 17th Street, hosts Rose for a Cure, featuring pink-inspired hors d'oeuvre, pink wine and cocktails, plus live jazz; proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Admission is $35; make a reservation at 303-297-3111.

Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York Street, hosts Food Day 2011, an all-day festival with hands-on cooking, lectures about nutrition and food access, and screenings of films about food production.
