Hamelin, who was once a corporate litigator, never denied that the customer was bitten, but points out that there are notices posted in the cafe warning guests that bites and scratches do happen, explaining to Westword last week that "I don't want to shove a waiver in people's faces when they walk in. I chose not to do it because the café is a very happy place."
